Year 5
In Year 5 we read a Newsround article about how to keep safe on Fireworks night.
Pupil 1
"I learnt that I must be wearing gloves when I hold a sparkler to protect my skin from being burnt."
Pupil 2
"Stay away from the actual fireworks so that your clothes don't catch on fire."
Pupil 3
"Keep sparklers at arms length."
We read about 3 different scenarios at a firework event. We discussed the potential risks, solutions put in place to lesser the risk and how dangerous the outcome could be if we did not manage the risks.
We then wrote some poetry about the colours and sounds that can be found on a firework night.
