DT Baxi Primary Engineer
After Easter we wil be entering a national design compeition with Baxi engineers. There will be an entry for KS1 and another for KS2.
The KS1 project will centre round the design and construction of a dumper truck made from basic materials and an electric circuit operating a flashing light and the bucket mechanism.
KS2 will be making a lighthouse that has to withstand a 45 degree tilt with a shockproof base. Again constructed from basic materials with an electric circuit for the light.
Engineers will be working with children from each key stage.
We came up with some questions to ask a real life engineer.
We have looked at real life dumper trucks, what they are used for and how they are designed. We then created our own designs.
