Year Four
To start our first Online Safety unit - Self-image and Identity - we first looked at some examples of how people acted online. We discussed as a class what impression we got of this person and explained what was right or wrong with what they were doing.
We then created our own avatar that we would use online. We thought about what things our avatar would and would not do and what characteristics they would have online.
We then compared friends online and friends in real life and how we can tell if someone is our friend. We looked at personas online to tell if people were our friend online or not.
We then looked how we could tell if someone was who they said they were online. After our class discussion we then looked at different scenarios and wrote what might happen next or what we should do if it happened to you.
