Year 3 listened to Mrs Mcbride read a story and then they practiced sequencing the story based on what they could remember.
we completed a workshop with Terry Deary, where he told us all about his experience as an author, gave use some useful 'hooks' to use within our writing and guided the children to come up with their own creative stories.
Child 1- "My story would have a horrible tortoise as the main character and the hook would be that the tortoise made jokes."
Child 2 "It's important to have memorable parts of a story to keep the reader wanting to come back for more."
Child 3- "My story would have repitition so that it is memorable and the characters name would be repeated over and over again."
