Year 1
Year 1 have been learning about online bullying and the impact of what we say online .
We discussed what we use the internet for.
'I play games on my mummy's phone' - Libby
'I like to play games on the tablet' - Brian
'I go on the internet sometimes' - Chimamanda
We then discussed how our words can make other people feel.
'If you send a nasty message that will make her feel sad' - Georgia
'Being unkind to someone online will hurt their feelings' - Edward.
'We should always say nice things to people' - Hope.
The children were given a variety of scenarios of things said to Merri the Monster online. They had to decide whether it would make Merri the Monster feel happy or sad by giving a thumbs up or thumbs down.
We then made our own posters to help people know the kind things they could say online and things that would be unkind.
