Happy World Book Day 2024!

We have so many great costumes in year 4. We have Harry Potter, Matilda, Miss Trunchbull, Mary Poppins, Billionaire Boy and many more. 
 

“I have picked Miss Trunchbull because Matilda is one of my favourite books but I also embrace being different” - Holly

”I have dress up as Diary of a Wimpy Kid because it is my favourite book because it is funny. I have read all the books twice and even watched the films” - Daniel

To start our day, we created book marks to show our favourite book character or the character we had dressed up as today. 

After our bookmarks, we then created a moving animation. We either created a new character or drew a book character that already existed. After we had drawn them, we then scan the QR code to make our character come to life.

We then went on a scavenger hunt in our library. We had a choice of what hunt we wanted to go on and then in pairs, we found books to fit the different things we needed to find.

Finally, we took part in a lesson with Axel Scheffler. First he read one of his new books that he had illustrated which was a fairy tale - Puss in Boots.  Then we had a go at drawing the character alongside him drawing the character as well.

After Puss in Boots, it was time to listen to Zog and then have a go at drawing Zog too.
