Learning through Nature

Learning through Nature Kit List

For each spring session your child will need the following items:

  • Sturdy trainers, boots or wellies which you don’t mind getting muddy
  • A pair of clean shoes to wear around school after the forest school session
  • Warm socks
  • Long trousers – ideally tracksuit bottoms or leggings (no jeans)
  • Extra layers, perhaps a fleece or jumper
  • Waterproof jacket
  • Hat and gloves if the weather is particularly cold
  • A full change of clothes.

Note that clothing and footwear are likely to get muddy at this time of year so please do not send valued items. Waterproof trousers are not essential but feel free to send them if you wish. A number of thin layers are much better than one thick item and can always be removed if your child is too warm. It is important to send warm clothes even when it seems sunny at the start of the day as the temperature can drop rapidly and sessions will go ahead even when it is raining and cold. For Health and Safety reasons, if children do not have the necessary clothing they will not be able to participate.

Nature Rules

Casey planted acorns with her grandad at home and kindly donated the trees to school. Mr P helped her to plant them.
