Leading in Teams
During the autumn term, Year 6 have worked through three units of P.E. These have been invasion games, (hockey and tag rugby) as well as dance.
The children have learnt transferable skills to use in both tag rugby and hockey. We have focused on attacking and defending alongside decision making within game situations.
We initially had to work on our skills when passing the ball in both games as well as familiarising ourselves with the rules of hockey and learning new rules for tag rugby. After we had learn these skills, we could apply them in small sided games developing into larger sided games. The focus on leading in teams was vital in terms of playing as a team and communicating well with one another.
