Diwali 2024
Whole School Assembly
We had a whole school assembly about Diwali and why people celebrate it. All the classes spoke about their learning.
Nursery and Diwali
After watching a videoclip and also looking at family photos Nursery children made Diya lamps, Rangoli patterns, firework pictures and also Mehndi patterns.
Year 1
We were very fortunate in Year 1 to have Ani's mum come in to speak to us all about Diwali and how her family would be celebrating this at home. She brought in photos for us to look at as well as a Diwali treat for all of the children.
Vedant brought in some Diya Lamps for us to try. We really enjoyed using these and learnt why they are used on Diwali.
We also created our own Diwali cards.

Year 2
In Year 2 we learnt that Diwali is the festival of light and we explored how Diwali is celebrated. The children created their own henna designs and also made diyas.
