Choice

When working on identifying angles, we created different angles using tape on our tables. We had a choice of what angles we wanted to produce - we could choose an obtuse angle, a right angle or an acute angle.
We then went round to our peers’ work to label which angles were which.

“An acute angle is less that 90 degrees” - AO

”A right angle is a 90 degree angle” - YA

”An obtuse angle is an angle that is bigger than 90 degrees but less then 180 degrees” - DS

When working with decimals, we learned what happens when we divide a 1 or 2 digit by 100. We then created our own questions in pairs. We wrote down a 1 or 2 digit number of our choice on our table and then moved the counter to show the decimal point moving.
We wrote down the full calculations in our books while we showed the decimal point moving on the table.

“If the zero is at the end of our decimal like 0.60 we can actually get rid of the zero at the end as 0.6 is the same value” - YA

”The decimal point moves 1 place to the left when we divide by 10 and 2 places to the left when we divide by 100” - HT

For our statistics group work. We had a choice of what topic to ask the other classes, a choice of the answers for them to vote for and also a choice of questions to ask about the data we collected.

“We chose favourite colour because it was an easy ones for the younger class to understand and vote for” - IP
