The Psalms - We wrote lists of the things we could bring to God.
Christmas; the symbolism of light. We have been learning why Christians all Jesus the light of the world. We put ourselves into dark and made a word bank of vocabulary to describe how we felt when we saw a tiny light being given off from a candle. We felt hopeful, positive and safe. We wrote poems about light.
Hanukkah - We learnt about the Jewish festival of light, Hanukkah. We read two stories that showed us why Jewish people celebrate Hanukkah. We played Dreidel. We looked at some artefacts such as a replica Torah and a Hanukkiah which is a candlestick holder. We then compared Hanukkah to the Christian festival of Christmas.
