We used our scientific knowledge of circuits to design a circuit that would light up a bulb. This was inside of a Christmas card.
In subsequent lessons we shall be making prototypes and then making the real card.
We used artefacts to help us build our knowledge of life in a Victorian kitchen and in a Victorian classroom.
This week we spent some time retrieving our locational knowledge of the world, ready for our Spring topic about rainforests. We pushed ourselves to name three countries within each continent and this extended to a child inspired task to collate items, photos, souvenirs from home to place on the map and link to the correct county. We also learnt which county we live in.
This week we have used our knowledge of stationary items to create conversations. We were asked what was in our pencil case and had to respond confidently by using “J’ai” or “Je ne pas de…”.
We used out knowledge of ordering 4digit numbers in maths, to order the significant events and dates of the Victorian period.
In class we are focussing on the novel Street Child. We used drama techniques to find out how the character of Jim Jarvis felt at different points in chapters 1-4. We all generated questions to ask and lots of us had the opportunity to become Jim and give our responses.
