Year 4
We had the opportunity to dress up as our favourite book character. We had a wide variety of characters such as Matilda, Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, Fantastic Mr Fox, Dorothy of Oz and Greg from Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
Many children in our class brought in books from home to share with everyone.
Silas read his favourite book, Zog, aloud to the class.
We continued to read our class novel, The Explorer, and we are up to a chapter called Sardines.
During the day we participated in a live stream lesson with BBC and Frank Cottrell-Boyce. We learnt the elements of an interesting story structure and discussed our favourite books.
We used our library and reading books to carry out a scavenger hunt. The purpose of this was to learn new words. We worked in pairs or table groups to vary the books we used.
We played a class game of Book Bingo to see how many books we had read that fitted the criteria. We thought of lots of different books that we had read or had been read too throughout our lives.
