We started this half term with Superheroes as our topic. The children made their own superhero masks and also practiced writing their superhero names.
The children played a maths game to help them with number recognition and counting. They took turns to roll a dice and the winner was the person who made up their superhero first.
We had a circle time where all the children told us what superhero they would like to be and why. We then discussed other people who could be superheroes such as policemen, doctors and even teachers!!
" I want to be a nurse."
"I am going to save people."
After reading the story "Supertato" the children practiced their fine motor skills by peeling potatoes and carrots and chopping up broccoli.
"It is very tricky but I can do it now."
We talked about Eid and what it was and then some of the children told us how they celebrated. They celebrated with friends, dressed up and ate lots of cake.
"My mum put a pretty pattern on my hand."
"Lots of friends came round to play."
"We went to nanny's house and had chocolate cake."
