We went to visit Judges Lodgings in Lancaster to experience a Victorian Christmas. We visited the kitchen and learnt about Christmas puddings, played parlour games with the Butler, made a cornucopia in the schoolroom and Father Christmas told us all about the toys Victorian children would have had in their stocking.
We have been using vocabulary and forms of speech that are increasingly influenced by our experiences of books. Enjoying an increasing range of books in our igloo story area.
Christmas themed provision. We have created Christmas cookies, designed and built the stable for Mary and Joseph, reenacted the story in different ways. Most importantly talking about the gifts of Christmas, including Gods gift to us and what we would like to recieve this year.
We enjoyed our Christmas party playing games in the hall, sharing pass the parcel, and eating our Christmas lunch together. We told jokes and talked about our visit from Santa, the party games and our food choices. It was a lovely social occasion.
