Some of use chose to build bridges that would go over a river.
We had to decide how to attach the straws, which materials to use and how we could attach them to create the a bridge fit for purpose.
'I spent a long time trying to build my bridge, I was really pleased with the results.' Alex
'Kinex works really well and I have lots of it at home.'Ben
We explored how different artists have worked and the materials they have used and recorded our ideas in our sketchbooks. We then created artwork based on our 'Rivers' topic. Some of us used paint, some pastel, some collage and some in 3D as sculpture.
'I really like having my own sketchbook to use when I want' Charlie
'My bridge design is like something I have done on Minecraft' Ben
'I really like the work of Hokusai and want to base my art on The Wave' Freya
'The animals were quite scary but I amazed myself when I stroked the snake' Zack
'I liked it when I felt the animals fur, it was very soft' Cason
'The parrot was very loud and the Opossum was very calm.' Rachael
We all enjoyed practical learning and touching animals we will probably never see in our everyday lives. We could imagine how these animals live in the rainforest.
