As part of our topic on Harvest, we looked at the story 'Handa's Suprise'. We used the finger puppets and masks to re tell the story.
We talked about the fruit from the story. We cut it up and then tasted it.
We set up a small world and role-play area.
We did some fruit printing using the fruit from the story. We also made some animal masks.
We sang the song'The Animal Boogie' We added in actions and masks to go with it.
In P.E we balanced our fruit bowls on our head just like Handa.
We made play dough fruit for the basket.
We looked at the story 'The Enormous Turnip'. We looked at the turnip using the magnifying glasses.
We created a farm small world and made some seed pictures using lentils, split peas, rice and sunflower seeds.
We planted a spring bulb. We talked about what the bulb would need to make it grow.
We made a planting area with plant pots, trowels and radishes. We learnt a song all about 'The Enormous Turnip' we then we acted it out.
In maths we learnt the rhyme 'One potato, two potato'.
Our topic for the past two weeks has been Autumn. We looked in our Autumn chatterbox and then we went for an Autumn walk to see what we could find.
On our walk we found lots of leaves. We decided to do some leaf printing.
We created an Autumn small world area.
We threaded leaves for our small world area.
We counted conkers.
We made a hedgehog using a paper plate, paint, pasta and art straws.
We made our own hedgehogs using chocolate play dough.
We made some Autumn shakers.
We carved out a pumpkin and used the pumpkin seeds to count with. We read the story 'Pumpkin Soup' and then made some.
